Dutch Landrace Goat

Good morning everyone. Our very first post on Blogger! :-) Hopefully the simplicity of the format will allow Rosie and me to create more posts for your enjoyment. For my first post, I wanted to tell you about a recent addition to the farm. Our friends, Tanith & Rob, brought this guy from a neighboring farm. The former owner does not remember where he originally came, but from what I can ascertain, he appears to be a Dutch Landrace.

It's had to tell, but I'm told by Tanith that one of his offspring has a similar set of horns to this one I found on the internet.

He's a little overly friendly, but we're giving it a go of adding his genes to some of the goats in our current herd. We'll tell you later how that goes. I am working on a "bachelor pad" for all the male goats in the herd to give the females, and the humans, some relief from their shenanigans.
